Ron Veit has been involved with goaltending for over 25 years and has trained goaltenders at every level of hockey. While working with the WHL, Ron has coached and has helped to develop talents like Carey Price and Chet Pickard, both being first round draft picks. While coaching with the Jr. A team Burnaby Express (BCHL), Ron won the Championship of Canada. Through the years Ron has trained many NHL goaltenders including talents such as Olaf Kolzig, Felix Potvin, Dan Cloutier, Damian Rhodes and Peter Scoudra to name a few.
Tanner Thomson, Head Instructor
Tanner has 19 years of experience as a goalie playing at all levels, including Jr Hockey in Alberta, Canada. He has been a head instructor for Veit Goalie Schools since 2018. Additionally, Tanner attends school to become a registered massage therapist (RMT) to learn and help prevent/manage injuries for the goalies he works with.
Kimberly Newell, Head Instructor
Kimberly Newell is an Olympian and World Champion goalie passionate about human performance on and off the ice. She played at Princeton University and helped her team move up the ranks as the starting goalie for the next four years. In her fourth year, she backstopped the team to win the Ivy League Championship, ending her collegiate career with the all-time most career saves and wins in Princeton history. Her coaching style emphasizes the importance of being versatile; she aims to expand the toolkit for her students to create a set of the most effective options. She also focuses on creating the ability to adapt to different situations and maintain a high level of performance regardless of the external situation. She believes that versatility and adaptability are the foundational pillars for developing long-term success. Kimberly is obsessed with shredding on her snowboard and can be found on the slopes, sending side hits.
Norm Reader, Lead Instructor
Josh Mahal, Lead Instructor
Josh played JR. hockey locally in BC and has spent has been working with Veit Goaltending since 2016. Josh is now studying Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia to further his education on athletes so he can bring more knowledge about exercise and injury prevention to goaltenders. Josh is passionate about the working with athletes and helping them achieve their goals by improving their skills while reducing any risks they may face including injury risks. Josh is also passionate about the human body and has a vast knowledge on off-ice training and rehabilitation to help improve your game!
Mauricio Soriano, Lead Instructor
Maui has coached with Veit goaltending for the last 6 seasons. He played 3 years of junior hockey in BC before heading to college where he has graduated with a bachelor's degree of kinesiology and will eventually be seeking a master's degree in physiotherapy.

Spencer Kozlowski, Instructor
Spencer played junior hockey for five years in various leagues before playing NCAA hockey for five years. Once his collegiate career ended, he moved onto the professional ranks in the FPHL for the last season and a bit.
Spencer's first season coaching full-time was last summer. Still, he has some brief experience coaching kids throughout the summer or even in-season, working for himself in whichever city he plays in.
Jordi Buccholz, Instructor
Jordi played 12 years pro hockey in Germany where he is now a goalie coach for the Kolner Junghale in Germany's highest junior league. He has played in the NHL Boys of Summer league in Vancouver. Jordi has coached at Veit and at CGGC for more than 10 years. This spring he was invited to train the U18 German national team goalies.
Jo Holland, Instructor
Jo is a new coach with Veit Goalie Schools, bringing experience from 4 years of coaching goalies with Revelstoke Minor Hockey. With a background in fitness coaching, Jo believes goalies these days have to be the best athletes on the team and he takes pride in helping his goalies get there. When he's not on the ice, you can find him working for the Abbotsford Fire and Rescue Services as a full-time Firefighter.
Jasmine Kwan, Instructor
Jasmine has 7+ years of experience as a goalie and currently plays women's hockey at Dalhousie University (AUS—USports). She has been an instructor for Veit Goalie Schools since 2021 and has trained with Veit Goaltending since 2018. She also coaches in Nova Scotia. Jasmine is entering her final year of her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Honours—candidate). She will pursue her honours research in goaltender biomechanics to help provide insight into performance and future goaltending methods.
Ben Skulski, Instructor
Ben has been coaching with Veit goaltending since 2020. He grew up playing for BMHA followed by playing junior hockey locally. He is currently studying Kinesiology at SFU with a focus on sport first aid and rehab. Ben is passionate about teaching the joy of hockey and making connections both on and off the ice among his students and fellow coaches.
